The DeSoto County Distinguished Citizen Award

recognizes DeSoto County individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, achievement and active involvement with their local community. It is recognized by the Board of County Commissioners that an outstanding community occurs when individuals aspire for unselfish and effective service which enriches the community.
