Title:   DeSoto County Section 16 Landfill Zone 5 Expansion and Partial Zone 3 and 4 Closure

Description:  The DeSoto County Board of County Commissioners are seeking formal Proposals from qualified firms and/or individuals to develop an approximately 7.5-acre portion of a Class I landfill referred to as the Zone 5 Expansion and approximately 1.5-acre portion referred to as the Partial Zones 3 and 4 Closure at the DeSoto County Section 16 Landfill.

The work for the Zone 5 Expansions includes, but is not limited to, required excavation and grading, dewatering, preparation of a subbase for installation of a Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL), installation of two geocomposite drainage layers (leak detection and leachate collection), installation of a 60 mil textured High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane liner system (primary and secondary), constructing leachate collection and detection trenches and piping, associated qualify assurance testing, tie-ins to existing conditions, protective drainage cover, perimeter gravel access road, stormwater control structures and conveyances, HDPE forcemain and connections to existing system, sodding/seeding,  and required plumbing and electrical work for proper operation of the leachate collection and detection pumping system.

The work for Partial Zones 3 and 4 Closure includes, but is not limited to, preparation of the intermediate cover layer for installation of a 40 mil Liner Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) geomembrane liner, landfill gas vents, installation of geocomposite drainage layer, associated quality assurance testing, tie-ins to existing conditions, final cover layer, sodding/seeding, and stormwater control structures.

The DeSoto County Purchasing Department will coordinate directly with the CQA Consultant and Engineer for the purchase and delivery to the site of all geosynthetic liners required for the work.  The Contractor is responsible for the unloading, on-site handling, storage, and installation of all geosynthetic liners.
