DeSoto County Landfill is pleased to announce that we are bringing back our recycling program!

YOUR RECYCLING OPTIONS HAVE CHANGED!!!

PAPER  

RECYCLE:

  • newspaper, including inserts 
  • phone books
  • corrugated cardboard
  • cardboard boxes
  • office/computer paper
  • magazines, catalogs 

DO NOT RECYCLE:

  • blueprints/carbon paper
  • metallic or plastic coated pape
  • tissue/toilet paper, paper plates, napkins, cups, towels
  • no boxes or paper contaminated by more than 3% grease
CANS/METAL/ALUMINUM  

RECYCLE:

  • aluminum beverage cans
  • steel/tin food and beverage cans
  • clean aluminum foil, foil food trays   
  • other scrap aluminum                                                                                                                                                  

DO NOT RECYCLE:

  • hazardous aerosol cans (spray paint, bug spray, etc.) and other hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, pesticides
GLASS CONTAINERS  

RECYCLE:

  • juice, soda, water bottles (GLASS ONLY)
  • beer, wine, liquor bottles (GLASS ONLY)
  • food jars (GLASS ONLY)

DO NOT RECYCLE:

  • drinking glasses, ceramics, crystal, mirrors, window glass, light bulbs
PLASTIC  

 

You may bring the above listed items to:

DeSoto County Landfill 

3268 SW Dishong Avenue

Monday - Saturday 8:00AM - 5:00PM

Please understand we are unable to re-open the previous sites due to extremely high contamination rates with containers being unsupervised. Landfill staff will now be screening all recycled loads for unacceptable items including any items that have not been rinsed well. Any items turned down may be taken back to your residence for curbside pickup or you may pay a tipping fee to dispose of the items during your visit. Make your recycling efforts count and help us help DeSoto County RECYCLE again!
