We are disappointed to announce that DeSoto County has been forced to put a temporary halt to our recycling program. We are still accepting paper materials only at the Landfill Location however; we are unable to accept any other recyclable materials until further notice. DeSoto County residents have been granted permission to utilize the Charlotte County facility located at: 19675 Kenilworth Avenue

You will take Veterans toward Port Charlotte and take a right at the light on Cochran. You will then take the next right, which is Kenilworth Avenue. The facility will be located on your right hand side. The materials accepted at this location are paper, cardboard, and all glass and plastics #1 - #7. DeSoto County residents ARE NOT permitted to take trash to this facility. We do sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause and would like you to know that we are working diligently to ensure that our recycling program will be back up and running in the future. We do understand the need for recycling to protect our beautiful County and greatly appreciate the help received from the community as a whole. Any future changes or updates to the recycling program will be posted here, and we appreciate your patience as we work through this temporary issue. 

Please note: Charlotte County operating hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00AM - 4:00PM!!!
