  • LIHEAP - APPLICATION - Low Income Home Energy Assistance Fund ​

    • No Longer Accepting LIHEAP Walk-ins:  The Social Services Department will no longer be able to accept Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) walk-in clients. You must have a scheduled appointment. No exceptions.

DeSoto County Social Services will provide ELIGIBLE applicants with up to three benefits per calendar year:

  • (1) Home Energy benefit between January 1st and December 31st,
  • (1) Summer Crisis benefit (April 1st through September 30th), and
  • (1) Winter Crisis benefit (October 1st through March 31).

For example, starting January 1, 2024, if you have already received LIHEAP assistance between October 1st and March 31st, then you will not be eligible for assistance again until April 1st.
